Last week I had the great experience of attending the Snowflake Summit in Las Vegas.

Summit is Snowflake’s must-attend annual global user conference: the single most valuable opportunity for the Data Cloud ecosystem to check out the latest technology while networking, collaborating, and learning from thought leaders, executives, and experts.

The seed for a design that felt like a destination was planted back in October. We envisioned something that highlighted and straddled the hybrid nature of the virtual and real worlds… an immersive, inclusive city, coming to life. Fast forward to June and there it was: blown out and applied across at least three football fields worth of buildings, video screens, swag, and more. Snowflake City and ‘The World of Data Collaboration’, where data, business, and people thrive, was real!

It was also great to see some of our other friends there. Sigma introduced their Sköna-led ‘Data Myths’ campaign, and I had the pleasure of witnessing the video we produced for Alteryx as part of ‘Analytics for All’. 

Real, in-person collaboration was back… and it felt amazing! It was truly energizing to be surrounded by so many people, attending sessions, and getting a better idea of where the Data Cloud is going.

There have been rumblings over the past couple of years that trade shows were dead. But ‘The World of Data Collaboration’ that I saw was anything but. It was awesome to stretch the possibilities of the Snowflake brand, then walk around the conference with 10,000 other attendees and see our vision for Snowflake City as reality… an idea truly brought to life for a wonderful week in Las Vegas.
